En las imágenes de la artista hay, por un lado, una reela- boración consciente de la línea creativa que proviene del surrealismo y del arte que procesa visiones emanadas del mundo onírico latente, del sustrato de lo inconscien- te y de las esferas fantástica y super-natural. Por otro lado, Lucía Maya siempre ha entablado diálogos de todo tipo con el teatro y el ámbito escénico, de ahí que en sus composiciones concurran representaciones emparenta- das con dramaturgias imaginadas. Obsesionada con la figura del árbol, la sensibilidad de Lucía Maya realiza operaciones analógicas entre lo arbóreo y la idea del su- jeto para crear relatos acerca del yo profundo.
Lucía Maya’s images, on the one hand, are a conscious re- creation of her creativity that has its origins in surrealism, and the art that processes visions emanating from a latent oneiric world – from the substrate of the unconscious and the sphe- res of the fantastic and supernatural. On the other hand, Lucía Maya has consistently set the scene for dialogues of all sorts in theater and the performing arts. From there her compositions have contributed to representations related to conceptualized theater art. Fixated with trees, her sensitivity creates analogi- cal operations within the arboreal cover and the idea of sub- jects who create stories about the ‘I’ and the profound.
