He has lived in the United States, France, Germany and Morocco – countries where he has exhibited his work – and in Argentina, Costa Rica, Bra- zil and Korea. He has received national and international awards such as the two Stu- dents Award from the Los Angeles Valley Co- llege, the Procalza Award at the Guadalajara Salón de Octubre, the Guadalupe Posada Award, and the Omnilife Award. Las piezas I Still Think of My- self as his Killer y Sobre Carlos, forman parte de la National Museum of Mexi- can Art, en Chicago, mientras su obra The Family, fue adquirida para The Clay Center of West Virginia, en Charleston.
Illinois Art Council and his project Santos y Milagros de Todos los Dias (Everyday Saints and Miracles) received the The Harpo Foun- dation grant. Macías’s art is featured in pu- blic spaces such as the Irving Park Brown Line station in Chicago and at the Chenne- brun Commune in France. His work has been acquired for collections in the United States: I Still Think of Myself as his Killer and Sobre Carlos (About Carlos) are part of the Natio- nal Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago and his painting The Family was acquired for The Clay Center in West Virginia, Charleston.
